Awesome Boy Cards and a Darling Layout..

by Kimberly 30. September 2009 02:21

Melanie Jarocki created a couple really cute cards and a scrapbook layout with products from Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man, Jenni Bowlin Farmer's Wife, Crate Paper Orbit, Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle and accents from Basic Grey, Jenni Bowlin, Scenic Route and Creative Cafe.  These are the same products that she used in the mini album I posted yesterday.  It is amazing how versitile they all are.  :)  I love the gathered twill on the cards!  It adds such wonderful texture.  Thanks for sharing Melanie!

Great Chipboard and Acrylic Mini Album by Melanie Jarocki

by Kimberly 29. September 2009 02:52

Check out this fabulous 8x8 mini album created by Melanie Jarocki.  She combined both acrylic pages and chipboard pages in her book.  This combination creates interesting dimension and some cool effects.  Her project combines products from Cosmo Cricket's Lil' Man Collection, Crate Paper's Orbit Collection as well as accents by Sassafrass Lass, Jenni Bowlin, Basic Grey, Creative Imaginations, Scenic Route and 7 Gypsies.

Cover
The cover pages has the title on one side - and shows the background paper from the 1st page through the acrylic cover page.  Melanie added journaling on the back side of the cover behind the title.

Pages 1 & 2

Pages 3 & 4
The pocket on the "Brothers" page is great for adding journing when space is limited.  This way you can get the full story in.  The next acrylic page features a die cut ring accented with buttons and a chipboard embellishment.  This acrylic page frames out whichever page it is overlaying.  The reverse side of the acrylic page has another set of embellishments to cover the back sides of the embellishments from the other side.  This adds great texture and a unique effect to the book.

Pages 5 & 6

Pages 7 & 8
The next acrylic page features a strip of orange plaid paper and some red ric rac.  It accents which ever page it overlays.

Pages 9 & 10

Pages 11 & 12
Love the little diecut border on the next acrylic page.  It runs vertically and gives the photos a different accent depending on which way the acrylic page is turned.

Pages 13 & 14

Pages 15 & 16
On the back acrylic cover Melanie adds some journaling and a couple of stickers.  These are covered on the reverse side by a couple of pieces of patterned paper.  Great book Melanie!!!

Great layouts made with bold patterns created by Kimmi Achord

by Kimberly 25. September 2009 01:08

Have you ever loved a bold patterned paper, but felt that it might be too overwhelming to use on a scrapbook layout?  Check out these layouts by Kimmi Achord using bold patterns from Pink Paislee's Fascinating Collection combining them with black accents and a couple of more subdued patterns.  Again, she adds great texture using Jenni Bowlin Crepe Paper Ribbon.  The sewing on her movie night pages is a nice detail.

Her second page has wonderful lines.  The circular shapes add interest to her layout.  Kimmi combines  scalloped borders, decorative border stickers and the large daisies to complete her design.  Again, the stitching on her journaling strips is a very nice touch.

Great pages Kimmi!!!

Cards and Gift Tags created by Kimmi Achord!!!

by Kimberly 24. September 2009 13:38

Here is another fabulous collection of projects created by our guest designer, Kimmi Achord.  Her projects featured products from the Pink Paislee Fascinating and Sweet Cakes Collections in combination with Jenni Bowlin Crepe Paper Ribbon and Scenic Route Chipboard Alphabet.

Notice the border punched edge on her tags.  This adds such a fabulous little detail.  I also love the texture that the crepe paper ribbons adds.  All of our designers that have worked with it - have absolutely loved it.  One package of it goes an incredibly long way.

Great job Kimmi!

Great layouts from our Guest Designer - Kimmi Achord

by Kimberly 23. September 2009 17:09

Kimmi is on the design team for Pink Paislee - one of my very favorite manufacturers.  She has a great eye for style, design and composition!  All of the little details that she includes make for amazing layouts.  Check out the sewing on the August page.  It is subtle - but it is a very nice touch.  The flower accent around the 8 is a great idea, and the pleated Jenni Bowlin Crepe Paper Ribbon adds fabulous texture and dimension to her project.

Check out the combination of rub-ons and chipboard to create the "Baking Cookies" title.  This is a great way to create a bold title in an unconventional space.  Also, make sure to check out the Maya Road Sheer Flowers on the Cookies layout.  They are a very subtle embellishment - but they give dimension to her embellishment clusters.

Awesome projects Kimmi.  Thanks for sharing them!
