| Hi friends! Bethany here today for this week's Tuesday Tutorial. I always love all of the patterned papers that Kimberly selects for our fabulous Hip Kits. I'm pretty sure I am not alone when I say that I have a hard time parting with any leftover scraps from my kits...am I right? Since I'm fairly certain there was a resounding 'YES!' to that question, I want to share a fun way to use up those awesome scraps. First, gather up your paper scraps! Check out this happy pile of scraps on my table.. Then gather a variety of different shape punches and start going punch happy! Punch a variety of different shapes & sizes from your scraps. I'm really loving the Martha Stewart butterfly punch for all my spring projects! I also used a couple different scalloped circles, plain circles, a sweet flower shape and Jenni Bowlin's mini prize ribbon punch. After you have a variety of colors and shapes punched, just start playing with layering... Once you have different papers layered, you can add buttons, bling, and cabochons. You can glue them together, stitch them together or staple them together using Tim Holtz's Tiny Attacher. The possibilities are endless! And in no time at all, you'll end up with a bunch of darling, custom embellishments to use on your projects! I must admit...making these little layered embellies gets a bit addicting! It's such a fun way to use up some of your scrap stash...hope you're inspired to play! |
