I am so looking forward to this holiday season!  We have so many great things in the works here at Hip 2-b Square.  For those of you who live in the Snoqualmie area - we will be displaying our artwork at the Starbucks in Snoqualmie Ridge for the entire month of December.  Stop by Starbucks to pick up a beverage and view our great display on your way to the store.   It will be sure to inspire you.

Our classes are a great opportunity for you to add that personal touch to your holiday gift giving and decor.   I hope you and your kids will join us for one of our fabulous classes.

I am looking forward to slowing down and cherishing our Thanksgiving holiday.  The girls are going to help cook this year.  They want to pull out the china and crystal.   It is just going to be us this year - which will be really nice.  I want to encourage us all to savor the moments for this fabulous time of the year.  Take time to experience each day - rather than getting caught up in the stressful aspects of it.

KID'S HOLIDAY CLASSES.  REGISTER NOW..

We have a great Kid's Class line-up for the holiday season!  Classes are available for kids ages 8 and up.  Children 5-7 years old and join our holiday classes with parent participation.  :) 

Embellished Holiday Paper Chain Garland  Friday, December. 3rd (3:30pm-5pm)  $25.00

• We will create your traditional paper chain garland and kick it up a notch by adding ribbon, buttons, tags and other die cut shapes.  This will be a fabulous addition to your holiday d?cor.

Teacher Holiday Gift - Winter Break Care Package Friday, December 10th         (3:30pm-5pm)  $15

• We will create a little book with a couple of gift card holders for a starbucks gift card, a borders gift card, and a movie ticket pass.  It will also contain a holiday card, and photo and a little message for the teacher.  This won't be your ordinary teacher gift.

Decorate your own Chipboard Gingerbread House. Friday, December 17th (3:00pm-5pm)  $25.00

• We will cover a little chipboard gingerbread bungalow with paper and embellish it with buttons, glitter, jewels and other fabulous embellishments.  This will be the gingerbread house that can be saved and displayed for many years to come.

Glimmer Mist is a fun product to work with on your projects. It can add a subtle or dramatic sparkly change to whatever you are working with.

• First, before you use your Glimmer Mist, be sure to swirl the bottle so the glimmer that has settled at the bottom mixes with the colored liquid.  Don't shake the bottle because it can cause the nozzle to clog.  Turn the bottle upside down and make sure all of the glimmer is mixed in-it makes a big difference in the outcome.  Sometimes it helps to lightly tap the bottom of the bottle on your hand between swirls.
  

The following are just a few ways to add color and shine to your projects.

• This first example shows a plain white flower that I sprayed with a few pumps of Glimmer Mist.

• Next, I took a piece of raw chipboard and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.  I really like how this turned out.

• Ribbon can also be sprayed with Glimmer Mist if you want to change it's color and add some sparkle.  I began with a light pink twill and sprayed it with a blue glimmer mist.

• You can also paint with Glimmer Mist for a soft watercolor effect with a bit of shine.  I sprayed the mist on some wax paper and then using a paintbrush I filled in the stamped image.

• It's fun to use Glimmer Mist to add depth and a change of color to your layouts as well.  The following layout has a bit of yellow glimmer mist under the title to soften the bright whiteness of the background.

(It's tricky to photograph the shine and shimmer of the glimmer mist but you can see it a little bit in this close up shot of the layout.)

Try some glimmer mist on your next project.  It is really a lot of fun and super easy to use.

Check out this awesome collection of cards created by Eva Montes using the products included in our August Hip Kit & Add-On Kit(s).  She adds so many subtle details onto her cards.  Notice the needle holes - a tiny detail - but it is a great finishing touch.  Beautiful work Eva!

Check out these beautiful layouts by Lilith Eeckels created with the contents of our August Hip Kit .  I love the simple beauty of her "Sweet"layout.  The splattered paint and machine stitching on her "For Fun" layout are great little details.  Awesome job Lilith!

*This journaling pocket is a wonderful subtle detail.  She created a little pocket printed with some of her journaling.  The rest of her journaling was printed on a tiny tag with a pull tab - which gets hidden inside the pocket.






*Lilith printed the black and white photos out on the light blue cardstock included in our August Kit.  What a fabulous idea!  The circles were punched with a 1.5" circle punch.  The punched flowers and butterflies added a nice dainty effect as well.  When it is all put together, it is absolutely beautiful!
