Tuesday Morning November 10th Class - Mini Album Project.

by Kimberly 15. November 2009 09:00

For those of you who don't already know - we are hosting Tuesday Morning Projects Make and Takes.  Each week they are different.  Pre-registration is required to ensure there is enough supplies.  Project costs vary - but you can find out the details for each week's project on our events calendar at www.meetup.com/hip2bsquare/

Here are some photos of the project that we created at last weeks workshop.  This little book was inspired by a project made by Susan Bourgeois using these same products.  There are two addtional sets of alphabet in each kit for titles can captions.  I will add titles as soon as I choose my photos.

We have one more kit available with all of the supplies to make this project.  Almost everything is precut and ready to assemble.  The cost for this kit is $50.00 - send an email or give us a call if you are interested in it.  425-396-1277 or

THANK YOU DEANA!!!

by Kimberly 15. November 2009 08:10

On Friday afternoon, much to my surprise, my UPS man delivered a box that I didn't order and that didn't have scrapbooking supplies in it!  Deana Boston sent me and my family a box of delicious petit fours from Williams & Sonoma.  They were absolutely beautiful.  Deana thank you so much for your random act of kindness!  It made my day.

I wanted to get a photo of them in their little box to post on my blog.  However, my family dug into them as I went to get my camera.  So, I took out what was left - and placed them on a plate and took a couple shots of the lovely little cakes.  I must have been flustered because the aperture on my camera was not set correctly - and all of the photos came out underexposed.  Try as I might, I couldn't edit them without having them become really grainy.  So, i turned one of them into a black and white and colorized it.  Looks kind of cool anyway - but definitely doesn't capture the details of these little sweets.

Needless to say, once the camera was put down - they were gone in a flash!

A great little accordion book.

by Kimberly 20. May 2009 11:07

This little accordion book is made out of a regular old file folder.

  • Take a letter size file folder and cut it in half, and then cut one half down to 8.5" x 11".
  • Score the folder horizontally 2" from the bottom.  Fold the bottom of the folder to form the pocket.
  • Then score the folder vertically in quarters (2.75").  Then you can accordion fold your book.   +
  • Tape three 2" strips of ribbon to the front cover of the book, and then  tape the other ends of the ribbon strips to the back side of the book to create the binding.
  • Cover the front and the back of the book with patterned paper.  Cover the bottom portion of the pockets with patterned paper as well.
  • Secure the pockets by setting an eyelet in the front and back cover.
  • Thread a 12 inch piece if ribbon through the eyelets so that you can tie your little book shut.
  • Take the unused half of the folder and make 2.5" x 4" tags.  Cover one side with a contrasting patterned paper.
  • Set eyelets through the top of each tag.  Tie decorative ribbon through each tag to add texture.
  • Stamp a journaling block on the blank side of each tag.
  • Embellish your tags and your book with flowers, buttons, chipboard or whatever strikes your fancy.
  • (note:   the paper I used didn't have any black accents on it - so I used a pen and doodled around the border of the paper and around each flower.  This little trick tied the black and white accents together with the rest of the project)
