Hi Everyone! 

It is Melanie here today to share a layout that I created with our April Hip Kit.  I will tell you that  I totally loved creating my 8.5 x 11 layout earlier this month.  But, I guess I couldn't stay away from my style too long. LOL!  Today I have a “totally true to Melanie-style” page to share with you.  My style tends to be quite linear and usually includes more than one photo.  I often mat the patterned paper, add some kind of decorative border, and some stitching here and there.

You can see that I added some zig zag stitching in different places around my layout to give it a little more definition and dimension.  I also tied the buttons off with baker's twine.  This adds texture and gives them a nice finished look.

Below you can see that  I misted one of the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Frames with the Taxi Cab Yellow Mister Huey’s Mist.  Both of these products where included in our April Embellishment Add-On Kit.  My veneer frame was quite bright after misting it, so I swiped it with some light brown ink to tone it down just a bit.  The Crate Paper button inside the little frame was the perfect finishing touch for my page.

It’s Kimberly here today, and I have a wonderful layout to share with you that was created by Cindy Stevens using the colorful supplies included in our April Hip Kit. 

Cindy hand-cut around the frame on the Studio Calico Cubicle Paper.  This gave her a nice canvas to add her photos and embellishments.  This trick really pulls your eye right to the photos and the journaling.  She used a lot of patterned paper on her layout – but only 1 bold design – this also makes her page really pleasing to the eye.  All of the other patterns are really subtle – so they don’t compete with one another.  I love her choice in embellishments as well.  They add both dimension and texture to her project.  The Crate Paper Story Teller Chipboard Stickers that were included in our April Embellishment Add-On Kit have so many great shapes and little captions.  Also, she only used a portion of the Crate Paper Border Stickers.  Sometimes you don’t need to have your border go the entire length of your page.  This little trick will allow you to use the leftovers on another project later.  :)

Hi all!
Bethany here today to share a layout that I created using our yummy April Hip Kit.  In honor of Mother's Day , I pulled out a photo of me and my mama to create my layout...

I absolutely love, love, love the Crate Paper Storyteller Chipboard Accents from our April Embellishment Add-On Kit! I included a cluster of these lovely chipboard pieces on this layout, along with some of the fabulous buttons and one of those super cute clothes pins to create lots of layers.

This photo was from my first 4th of July! I love how this color combo strayed from the traditional red, white & blue that would typically be scrapped for 4th of July photos. The colors in this kit are so fresh & fun!

Hi Everyone!

It is Kristin here today, and I want to share another simple card that I made with our April Hip Kit.  I love the bright sunny yellow and aqua blue color combination.  I added a little detail by splattering some of the Taxi Cab Yellow Mister Huey’s  Mist that was included in our April Embellishment Add-On Kit.  I added some texture and dimension with the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Frame that was also in the Embellishment Add-On Kit.  The butterflies were the perfect finishing touch for my card.  I punched them out using my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch that was included in our March 2012 Embellishment Add-On Kit.  I love this punch and I use it all the time.  :)

Melanie here today bringing you a set of Mother's Day cards.  Our April Hip Kit has the perfect papers and embellishments for the upcoming holiday.

I kept the design similar on all three cards, using the pink diagonal stripe paper and the floral print. I added the yellow gingham ribbon and Crate Paper chipboard pieces.  The sentiments are all stickers from SRM Press (not included in the kit).

Using the same design for the base of each card helped this set come together in a timely manner. Then I was able to individualize each one with the different embellishments.

I must admit a was a little on the chatty side… but I am just getting the hang on the video thing. ha ha… I hope to have all the kinks worked out for next week’s video tutorial so that it is nice and concise and inspiring at the same time. :) Enjoy this one! Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that our Tutorial Tuesday VIDEO will be posted tomorrow morning.  It is currently being uploaded to YOUTUBE.  This is the 1st video I have made and there is a learning curve with the editing software.  ha ha…  I had to have my 16 year old daughter help me with it.  Getting it loaded onto Youtube takes a lot longer than one might think.  Now that I have it all down, next week will be a breeze. :)

Bethany here today to share one of the cards I created with the fantastic April Hip Kit. I must admit, I do love the chevron trend, and this paper does not disappoint...it is one of my favorites from our April kit! The chevron print in aqua and white with some bookprint thrown in...absolutely LOVE it!

I layered up some of that pretty red patterned Crate Paper paper, a diecut from the Lilybee Bag of Bits, a couple of fun chipboard pieces and one of the wood veneer frames from our April Embelishment Add-On Kit. Then I added a splash of Mister Huey 'Calico White'. I never tire of this aqua, red and white color combo!
