Here’s a fun  and easy way to use your ribbon scraps to create a fabulous flower to embellish your cards and layouts…

To create your flower, you will start with a piece or ribbon and some embroidery floss. It can be any length of ribbon.  This one was about 9 inches in length. You can choose any color floss, as it won’t be noticeable once the flower comes together…

Make a simple straight stitch along one side of the ribbon until you reach the end …

Next, gently pull the floss to gather the ribbon into a circle, then stitch the ends together…

To finish your flower you can stitch a button, glue a jewel or fasten a brad to the center.  Once your flower is finished you can quickly gather some supplies to put together your project.  The supplies below were used to create our sample card.

To add a little more dimension and extra color, I layered my handmade flower onto a Sassafras Lass chipboard flower…
