| I know that it seems like I have been missing in action. :) ha ha. After closing our retail storefront two weeks ago - I have been busy trying to get Megan ready to go off to college. It has been a great couple of weeks. Megan and I have spent a lot of quality time together - picking up stuff for her dorm, hanging out at home or whatever else happened to be on the agenda for that day. :) Today was a huge day. Megan went off to college. We started out the morning getting things packed up and running a few last minute errands. We grabbed lunch and headed off to the University of Washington to move her into her dorm. We got the car unpacked, and got everything loaded into her room. She met her roommate - a wonderful girl from England - and they clicked right from the start. The three of us spent the afternoon making beds, hanging pictures and decorating their room. I was so glad to be able to have this time with Megan. These hours were so precious to me and I know they meant a lot to her. After a lot of hard work - the three of us went out to dinner at U Village. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Afterwards, I drove them back to their dorm and dropped them off. I gave Meggy a big hug, told her that I loved her, and reminded her to be safe. She walked into her dorm - and is so ready to start this exciting new chapter in her life. She is such a great girl and I am so very proud of her - she is going to love her college experience. As much as I am excited for her - I am going to miss seeing her everyday. When they are little you can't imagine them going off to college - but it arrives faster that you would think. They do grow up too quickly. As much as she is ready to go, I am not quite ready to let go. I love you Meggy!!! |
