Guest Designer–Lisa Wilkinson… A fun layout created with our May 2012 Hip Kit

Hi Everyone!

It is Lisa Wilkinson here today. I am having such a fun time guest designing with the May 2012 Hip Kit and all of the super fun May Add-On Kits. I thought it might be kind of fun to share a few fun facts about myself before I show you my project.

• What are my TOP 5 favorite products & why? 
1. Helmar Acid Free Adhesive.  It is super sticky and it works for almost any scrapbooking or paper crafting project.
2. Lily Bee Alpha Stickers.  They are perfect for layouts and cards.  I use them for sentiments on my cards, longer titles or subtitles on my scrapbook pages.  They are fun and tiny and I love how one sheet includes full sets of alphabet in 8 different colors.  They go such a long way!
3. Divine Twine.  I love the little touch twine can add to a project.  It has a nice texture and such vibrant colors.
4. Mister Huey’s Mists.  (I only have 4 of them - but I absolutely adore them).   They are so different from Glimmer Mists and other ink based mists.  These are paint based and they give a nice opaque bold color.
5. Doilies. Just because they are timelessly beautiful.

So, now that you know a little bit more about me, I am excited to share my second page that I created with the Hip 2-b Square - May 2012 Hip Kit.  I really had a lot of fun with this page.   The colors in the May collection can be subtle or SO bold which brings a smile to my face because I can use these products for almost anything!

For this layout, I just used just a few basic squares in my design.  Lots and lots of layering and a few pop dots for dimension.  I added detail to my page with some machine stitching, a few splashes of paint and little bits of the fun washi tape that was included in the main Hip Kit for May.

This next photo is a close-up of the pinwheel embellishment that I created to go onto my page.  I made it using yet another square.   I added one of the fun buttons and banners to complete the pinwheel.   Cute, eh?  :D
