May 2012 Hip Kit… A Graduation Layout by Melanie Jarocki…

Hi Everyone!

Melanie here with you today to share a layout that I made with our great May 2012 Hip Kit.  My niece, Melia, just graduated from high school on June 1st.  I had this set of her senior photos, and when the camera sticker on the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan sticker sheet that came in our May kit, I was inspired me to get these photos onto a layout.

I used the orange pattern paper to soften the brightness of the base cardstock. Then I added in some strips of the striped and floral patterned papers to connect the two pages together.

To help the title stand out, I backed the light blue letters with the red Basic Grey pattern paper (thanks for the tip, Cindy!). And because the green letters seemed a little too bright with the photos, I inked them gently with light brown ink.
