Just wanted to give you a quick update on our January Hip Kit debut…  This month’s kit was designed to include several Crate Paper Fourteen Collection products.  We received information today that most of the Crate Paper products we ordered are out of stock.  So, I am in the process of redesigning this month’s kit with new products, and I hope to have the images posted within the next day or two.

I appreciate your patience with this little bump in the road.  I promise this month’s Hip Kit will be as fabulous as you would expect it to be.  :D

Hi Everyone!

I know about you, but Cindy’s 8.5”x11” layouts have inspired me to create one of my own… and I have to say that it was a lot of fun, and I am really happy with the way it turned out.  Each year on Christmas Eve the girls all get to open one gift from my mom, and it is always Christmas pajamas.  This tradition started when they were babies and it continues today.  The photo that I used on my page is about 10 years old – and I love expressions on each of their faces and I love how well it coordinated with the products in our November Hip Kit.

The

Sleigh Ride Tag Cuts Paper is one of my favorite products in this kit.  It is so versatile and it has so many different patterns, colors and sentiments on it.  Many of the tags are great for journaling, and some are wonderful to use a an embellishment for your project.  I used three tags and a tab on this page.  One tag for journaling – which I hid inside a glassine bag, and two others to add a little extra pattern and a splash of color.  The layers also give a lot of texture and some dimension to my layout.

The Sleigh Ride Chipboard Accents & OA Make It Merry Word Stickers (both from our November Embellishment Add-On Kit) will make embellishing your holiday and winter projects a breeze.  I love how that sweet pink present looks on my page, and the “Merry & Bright” sticker adds a nice finishing touch.

Hi Everyone…

It is Kimberly here with you today.  So, I have a funny story to share with you.  Yesterday, my daughter Megan and I went out to buy Mackenzie a new bed.  She had bunk beds in her room, and as a 5’10” 14 year old girl – she had outgrown them.  So, yesterday we were on a mission.  We found and bought an awesome bed.  Then we went to purchase a box spring to go with it.  When we got home, I was so glad to have this marked of my list of things to do, and Mackenzie was thrilled to be getting a new bed.  Then the joy turned to frustration as we began to put the bed together.  The footboard was damaged and the box spring they gave me was an extra long – so it didn’t fit the bed.  Argh!!!!  Disappointing for Mackenzie and maddening for me – because now I have to go back out and fix it all today.  Hopefully today will end better than yesterday did.  Tonight I plan on having Mackenzie being tucked away and sleeping in a perfect new bed.  :D  haha…  I am choosing not to have this be a foreshadow of my 2013.  haha…

On a more positive note…  I have an awesome holiday layout to share with you that was created by our talented, Cindy Stevens using our festive November 2012 Hip Kit.  Cindy’s layouts always have such great texture and dimension.  I love how she layered Enamel Dots and buttons…  so clever.  :D  I also love how she combined different alphabet to create her title.  Using both uppercase and lowercase Thickers along with the mini alphabet stickers gives her title a bit of whimsy.

Cindy hid her journaling on a tag that she tucked away behind her photos.  This is an excellent way to be able to include a longer story and more details about your pictures.

Happy 2013!!!

I hope you all had a happy and safe New Year.  The holidays flew by at lightning speed.  I can’t believe that it is time to take down all of the holiday decorations and get back to normal life.  Normal life resumed for the kids today – as they headed back to school.  Waking up early was brutal for all of us.  We will all be spending the next few days adjusting our sleep schedules.

I wanted to take a quick moment to share a fun New Years card that I created with our November 2012 Hip Kit.  I will have some thank you cards to share with you either tomorrow or Thursday.  Our January 2013 Hip Kit Debut will be coming by the end of the week…  so keep an eye out for that.

Happy New Years Eve!

New Years Eve here… is going to consist of a quiet evening.  Madeleine and Megan are going to scrapbook with me, and Bob is going to watch some football games he recorded.  Mackenzie is with her friend, Jane and her family at a snowy cabin in eastern Washington.  All is good here at the Hutchison house – and I hope all is good with you and your families.

But, before the festivities start I wanted to share a couple more cards that I created with our November 2012 Hip Kit.  I am sure that many of you have sent out all of your cards for this year, but you can used the card ideas to create embellishment clusters on your holiday scrapbook layouts… or you can send out a wintery New Years card.

 How cute is this little wintery snowman card?!  I cut out a snowflake with my new Christmas gift…  (a Silhouette Cameo) which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!  I misted it with the silver Mister Huey Mist and added some splatters to the background of my card (from our Embellishment Add-On Kit).  I think it gives it a real wintery feel.  The sentiment is a little flag banner cut from the Sleigh Ride Tag Cuts paper.  I think the ribbon, masking tape sticker and button are the perfect accents to finish my card.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you have all been enjoying your holiday season.  Things have been quite busy around our house with shopping trips, wrapping, cooking, baking and celebrating.  My mom was here for a week – which was a lot of fun for all of us.  The girls all had Christmas money to spend, so shopping was on the agenda for the day after Christmas.  Fortunately, Megan can drive – so my mom and I stayed home – away from the crowds.  We have no big plans for New Years…  we will probably stay home and play some games – which sounds perfect to me!
